Need a hand?
Just ask.
Mei is a one-person project. When you email, you get a real reply from the person who builds it. Usually within a day or two.
Worth checking first.
- 01Mei isn't hearing me.
Open iOS Settings → Mei and confirm Microphone and Speech Recognition are on. If you use AirPods or another Bluetooth mic, try switching back to the iPhone mic once to make sure it works at all.
- 02Mei doesn't seem to remember what I told it.
Memory is stored locally on your device, so it can be affected by storage-clearing or reinstalling the app. From the Settings tab inside Mei you can inspect what it remembers and edit or delete individual entries.
- 03Calendar / Reminders permission is off.
These permissions are optional — Mei works fine without them. To enable, go to iOS Settings → Mei and turn on the ones you want. Mei will ask again the next time you request something that needs them.
- 04The app feels slow / warm.
Mei runs a language model directly on your iPhone, so responses use the Neural Engine. The first reply after opening is typically the slowest; subsequent replies are quicker. On older supported devices, expect a brief warm-up.
- 05How do I delete everything Mei knows?
Inside Mei: Settings → Erase all data. Or simply uninstall the app. Nothing is stored off-device, so there is nothing left behind.
- 06Is Mei available on iPad or Mac?
Not yet. iPhone 15 Pro and newer is the first target because the on-device model relies on the A17 Pro Neural Engine and above.
Reach out. Really.
